Val-U
Design partner programme now open

Win the corporate finance workyour clients already ask about.

Val-U helps practices spot clients who are ready to sell, raise or grow their value, then prepare the work under your brand and your sign-off. We are building it with a small group of UK practices.

For practices without an in-house corporate finance team. CFO-reviewed valuation reports available now.

Illustrative concept. Portfolio triage is being built with design partners, and the clients and figures shown are examples.

The advisory work that leaves the firm

Most practices know their clients’ numbers better than anyone. The corporate finance conversation often happens somewhere else.

Clients ask too late

Owners tend to ask what the business is worth when a buyer, a dispute or a partner’s exit forces the question, with little time to fix anything.

Corporate finance is hard to staff

Valuations, information memoranda and buyer packs take specialist time that most practices cannot justify keeping in-house.

The fee goes elsewhere

When the work is referred out, so is the relationship at the most valuable moment in a client’s life.

How Val-U fits into your practice

Three steps, built in this order. The first is live today.

  1. Live now

    Start the conversation

Send clients a free two-minute readiness check. They arrive at their review with a score, the questions a buyer would ask and a 90-day plan.

  2. Building with partners

    Spot who is ready

A view across your client book of who looks ready to sell, raise or grow value, so partners know which conversations to have first.

  3. Later

    Prepare the work

Indicative valuations, information memoranda and buyer packs drafted from client data, for your team to review, edit and sign off.

CFO-reviewed valuation reports for your clients

Send us a client’s last two years of accounts and a short questionnaire. Within five working days you get an indicative valuation report you can take into a client meeting: a value range, normalised EBITDA, the multiple and why, and the drivers that move it.

  • £995 per report to the practice. You set your own fee to the client.
  • Founding partners: first report £495. Limited to the first ten practices.
  • Prepared and reviewed by a CFO with ten years’ experience, using Val-U’s method.
  • Your client stays yours. We do not contact or market to them.

An indicative valuation for discussion, not a formal valuation for tax, legal or court purposes, and not regulated advice. Prices exclude VAT where it applies. You only pay once you have agreed the scope.

Your brand. Your client. Your sign-off.

Val-U is built to make practices more capable, not to stand between you and your clients.

Designed to carry your brand

Reports and documents are being designed to go out under your practice’s name, not ours.

Clients you introduce stay yours

We will not market to clients you bring to Val-U or try to move their advisory work away from your firm.

Qualified people decide

Val-U prepares indicative analysis and first drafts. Your partners review, advise and stay responsible for the advice.

The design partner programme

We are working closely with a small number of UK practices before practice plans launch in 2027.

What you get

  • Early access to each module as it opens.
  • A direct line to the founder, a CFO with ten years’ experience.
  • A real say in what we build next and how practice plans are priced.
  • No cost while you take part.

What we ask

  • A short call each month.
  • Try the free check with a handful of clients.
  • Honest feedback on what helps and what does not.

Practice plans will be priced per firm and agreed with design partners before launch. Valuation reports are available now (see above).

Start today: send clients the free check

Ask a client to run the check before your next review meeting. It takes about two minutes, needs no financial figures and stores nothing, so there is no client data for you to manage.

Message you can send to a client

Hi [name], Before our next review meeting, it would help if you tried this free two-minute check. It shows how ready the business looks to a buyer or lender, lists the questions a buyer would ask, and gives a 90-day plan. Nothing you enter is stored, and you can bring the result to our meeting. https://val-u.co.uk/check

Questions from practices

What is live today?

The free client readiness check, the message kit to send it, and CFO-reviewed valuation reports. Portfolio triage, indicative valuations and document preparation are being built with design partners, in that order.

What will it cost?

Valuation reports are available now at £995 each, with the first report at £495 for founding partners. The design partner programme itself is free. Practice plans will be priced per firm, set with design partners before launch in 2027.

What happens to client data?

The check runs in the client’s browser and nothing they enter is sent to us or stored. For a valuation report, we agree the scope and a simple data processing agreement with your practice first, receive the accounts securely, use them only for that report, and delete them when you ask.

Will Val-U compete with my practice?

No. Val-U also offers business owners a free check directly, but clients you introduce stay yours. We will not market to them or try to move their advisory work away from your firm.

Is this regulated advice?

No. Val-U provides general information and indicative analysis. Advice stays with you and your qualified team.

Who is behind Val-U?

Val-U Limited was founded by Christopher Eaton, a CFO with ten years of experience. You will speak to him directly.
