This notice explains how Val-U Limited (“Val-U”, “we”) uses personal information on val-u.co.uk during the public beta.
Who we are
Val-U Limited is the controller of your personal information. Company number 17479006. Registered office: 2 Higham Lodge Cottage, Upper Street, Colchester, CO7 6ND. Contact: hello@val-u.co.uk.
What we collect
- Beta list sign-up: your email address, your name if you give it, whether you are an owner, buyer, adviser or other, and the time you agreed to be contacted.
- Valuation report requests: your email, your name if you give it, your firm or business name, and the time you agreed to be contacted. If you go ahead, we agree separately how accounts are shared, used and deleted.
- Design partner applications from practices: your work email, your name if you give it, your firm name, and the time you agreed to be contacted.
- Value check: nothing. Your answers are processed in your browser and are not sent to us or stored.
- Hosting records: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not load fonts or scripts from third-party advertising networks.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your sign-up details to email you about the Val-U beta, to arrange calls with practices that apply to be design partners, and to understand who is interested. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Hosting logs are kept for our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
Who we share it with
We use a database provider (Supabase, with our project hosted in the UK) and a website host (Vercel). They process information on our behalf. Some of their support or infrastructure may be outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep beta list details until you ask us to remove them or unsubscribe. We will review the list at least once a year and remove anyone who has not engaged.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to its use, or to withdraw your consent. Email hello@val-u.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
